Warren Weeks, Principal

Warren Weeks, founder and principal of Eleven PR, is a seasoned communicator with more than 17 years of experience and a successful track record of helping organizations in a wide range of sectors and industries to effectively manage their messages.

He has established a reputation for providing executives with sound, strategic communications counsel – often under tight timelines and volatile circumstances, such as work disruptions, bankruptcies, mergers and acquisitions and food and water contaminations. In the summer of 2000, he spent three months conducting media relations work in the Town of Walkerton, Ontario during that community’s notorious E. coli water contamination crisis.

Warren founded Eleven PR with a clear mandate – to empower organizations to communicate their stories clearly and strategically in order to help them achieve their business objectives.

Since founding the firm in 2003, he has worked with a long list of satisfied clients throughout Canada and the United States, including RBC Dexia Investor Services, Maritime Life, John Hancock Retirement Plan Services, Manulife Financial, State Street, the Ontario Clean Water Agency, Dynea, Conservation Ontario, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the City of Mississauga, the City of Greater Sudbury, Hewitt Associates, RBC International Wealth Management, Loblaw Companies Limited, Canadian Benefit Administrators, Halton Region, the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario, the General Insurance OmbudService, Meridian Credit Union, Community Care Durham, Longview Solutions, the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority and many more.

Prior to founding the firm, he held senior consulting positions with several respected Toronto public relations firms (GPC International and Howe & Company).

Warren also offers clients the perspectives and insights of a journalist, with experience working in both print and broadcast journalism. He served as the editor of a community newspaper in southern Ontario in the early 1990s. He also did an internship at TSN (The Sports Network) in 1993, working on the show 'Inside Sports' with Dave Hodge. Throughout his career, Warren has also written more than 1,000 articles on a wide range of topics, including mainstream news, finance, insurance, health care, sports, public relations, social media and more. In his spare time between 1996 and 2006, he authored more than 400 stories for The Hockey News.

In the spring of 2010, Warren started an online campaign (www.patburns.ca) to get former NHL coach Pat Burns (who is dying of cancer) into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Within three weeks, the campaign attracted 70,000 members and generated more than $1 million of media coverage from outlets including Hockey Night in Canada, the New York Times, Globe and Mail, National Post, Montreal Gazette, Fan 590, Team 990, Ottawa Citizen, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, CHCH TV, Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, AM 640, Yahoo Sports and more.

Warren Weeks has a Masters degree in Journalism (1993) from the University of Western Ontario.
